Some medical terminology

So I’m more comfortable talking about how this makes me feel, but I get that some diagnostic information might be helpful for those who are inclined to better understand what is going on.

On 1/26/18 I went to see an opthalmologist for a second or third opinion of pressure and twisting sensation behind my eyes. I was referred by the most wonderful PA who listened to me.

The opthalmologist discovered papilledema in both eyes. He had concerns about venous sinus thrombosis/stenosis; pseudotumor cerebri or intracranial tumor causing compression.

He sent me straight to the ER for MRI, MRV, and lumbar puncture. Didn’t have to do all of that, but had all kinds of MRIs. Found the answer to another problem from those tests, too. That surgery will be easier and I won’t even go into that now.

What I have in my head is Meningioma, it’s a 3.3 cm homgeneously enhancing mass in the right posterior superior parietal lobe. Marked edema throughout the underlying right parietal lobe extending into the right posterior frontal lobe.

Surely would have been awesome to have had this discovered when I was working and had insurance. I was certainly seeking and paying for answers.

Oops, there go my feelings again. LOL.
