I appreciate that I have company who can be present and help supplement the job that Nurses and CNAs are undertaking. While they are awesome at their jobs, their jobs are unpredictable and can be very busy. If the patient feels like they are interrupting, they might go two days without ice unless they unplug a machine and go get it. We don’t live in a perfect world. Help when you can. I just got ice and plugged my machine back in. Didn’t have to bother anybody.

I do appreciate why my grandmother wanted me or my mom to stay with her when she had an overnight hospital stay.
